To follow up on this - I was told by my car insurers taht they did not cover any personal items from the car and I should try the all risks part of my house insurance.

I now have been told by my house insurers that for all risks it has to be sometehing that is normally worn or carried about ther person!

Anyone come across these problems - and how can I get one or the other to pay?[/b]

Personally I hope they don't pay you out as I don't want my premiums increased due to people who are daft enough to leave sat nav and mobile phones in a vehicle, no matter for how short a time it is.

Just take your medicine and move on as a wiser person.

I do hope that you find some way to get around the insurers, they go to great lengths to not pay-out.

If it happened to anyone else they wouldn't care about anybody else's premiums going up or down!! JLee included.

This is odd. When my Go 500 was stolen from PC World Swansea, Priviledge replaced within 4 days, and my window was fixed.

I too, normally take everything out, but I just popped in to get some cd roms, gone for 2 mins. When I returned with my 5 yr old, glass everywhere and a distraught child. I am also sure I saw the scumbag, as I left the car, he looked dodgy......

I just guess I am too trusting. He wasn't brandishing a hammer or anything. Its only in hindsight I remember him, but I can't prove anything.

Hope he enjoyed his drugs he got for the £50 he sold it for. If only he could sell it for more, then there would be a chance he would overdose!!

I'm the opposite, I trust no one, I have a safe fitted in my vehicle and I don't even entrust my sat nav in that, I just don't take the risk.
