i3 Route calculation error

Hi

I had a problem on Sunday while driving from Cardiff to Nottingham. My starting point was saved manually at location as .001 and renamed (in favourites). The start location was Heol-Y-Felin. I was in navigation mode and I ignored directions to go via A449 and continued on M4. The unit recalculated and asked me to turn off on exit 23A. Here also I continued on M4. At this it tried to do recalculation and failed with an error message displayed on the Unit “Route Calculation Error. No roads near starting point. Press Wheel to continue.” When I pressed the wheel, the unit automatically changed to map mode. Wonder anyone else had this error before.. I have loaded no POIs of my own and runs software 3.2 with a secure digital card ( the old type..)

Any ideas ?

it could be you lost sat reception whilst the i3 was trying to do a recalculation resulting in your error, or it could be the version firmware you are running..you could try v2.7 firmware which seems to be more stable..

Had a few problems with freezing and then this route calculation error. Contacted Garmin and they advised me to send the unit back to them for them to have a look at it. 3 days and a NEW unit came back from Garmin. That's amazing service support when you look at some of the so called "Fantastic" after sales support from some other companies that I have had to deal with.
