Ive looked but cant find this answer .....sorry
Ive downloaded several points of interest for tom tom 2 and they dont show all the places (or let me search for them) for example it tells me theres about say 50 mountain peaks andthe furthest is 67.3 miles away....wot happend to the other 1100???

What you're seeing is all that are in the file. If you care to add some more, I'm sure PocketGPS will gladly add your augmented file to the POI Sync service.
The POI files have been supplied by volunteers; they've not been commissioned and they're certainly not guaranteed to be complete.
Sorry this post was not meant to sound like a complaint I thought the numbers in brackets related to all the POI in that group and thought i had made a mistake
Oh and could someone please explain y i can see some places in POI editor when i open the file with this software but they are not there when i transfer them to the PDA thanx
