Morning, I may have jumped the gun as its only 1000 hrs Saturday but hear me out.

I ordered a TomTom 910 and new GLOBALSAT BT359S SIRF STAR III receiver online on Friday 23td June 2006 at c.1119 hrs.

I immediately called Easy Devices and asked them to upgrade to Saturday delivery.

I was advised that I would have to pay a £20.00 premium which I agreed to.

Anyway, its Saturday the 24th June 2006. I havent received a tracking number and upon checking the website my order shows not despatched.

I opted for the premium delivery service to my home address as me and my partner both work, so we woould be home Saturday.

Well the clock is ticking!

Anyone know how good the EasyDevices website is and if it is updated.

Also, anyone know if Citylink deliver on a Saturday ?

Thanks
Matt

Citylink tbh can be hit or miss on Saturday's it really does depend on the citylink in your area.

to be honest i think youve jumped the gun a bit here most companies have cut off of around 1200hrs to allow then to get orders ready expecting next day on a friday to be honest is pushing it alittle. to be honest i dont think they should have taken the 20pounds from you for saturday delivery also it depends which truncker your goods went on and whether city link had anydrivers with any hours left to deliver the goods also it has the viable to send a veichle out.

easy devices are usually very good i ordeed from them last xmas and had delivery next day ie ordered monday afternoon and delivered wednesday morning.

as for no tracking number have you checked you junkmail or you spam filter ay have chewed the emails up with the trcking number

I havent jumped the gun bud, i have ordered many items from Expansys upto 1600 hrs on a Friday and received them on a Saturday via Royal Mail. Yes Royal Mail a different haulier.

The order with EasyDevices was made before 1200 hrs and the phone call was straight after the order.... I made the order and called them to clarify that I could upgrade to Saturday delivery. I was put on hold for about 2 mins by a polite fellow and then advised 'yes'. I even made sure I said to him 'So i will receive these items tomorrow Saturday the 24th" and was advised "yes".

If citylink (who people have had problems with ) have said yes to Easydevices then Easydevices need to investigate with them, this is all speculation as I'm assuming whilst I was on hold, EasyDevices where speaking with Citylink.

I was willing to and have spent over £500.00, which has been taken from my account on the understanding that I received my items today. Saturday 24th June 2006.

We will be unable to collect the items on Tuesday when/if they arrive, we both work and the nearest City Link is 40 miles away round trip, hence the premium Saturday delivery charge.

I am in the haulage game and understand your point about drivers hours etc BUT this is were you dont understand.

Companies like Citylink employ night 'trunk' drivers who are employed on a rolling 45 hour week, Monday to Friday. These drivers can driver 9 hours 3 times a week (not work) and extend to 10 hrs driving 2 times a week that needs to be made up (ie compensated) over a rolling period of 2 weeks.
We have the same contracts. Drivers hours dont come into the equation unless an accident / breakdown has occured. As to whether its viable to send a vehicle out, thats not my problem, someone said 'yes' and the contract has been broken.

Like I said earlier, someone from Easydevices needs speak with Citylink.

It only takes one non delivery (which has happened to me) , to turn an online customer away from a company.
With so many other online suppliers, can EasyDevices be nonchalant about just 1 x customer, who has paid over £500.00 - i dont think so.

In my eyes EasyDevices are now tarnished.

Will I go to them next time I want to spend over £500.00, No, I will use another company.

I dont lose out, they do.

Also, to re-iteratre, I have been a customer for a few years , like yourself.

I can confirm, I obviously cehcked junk mail folders but to no avail.

Regards
A very weeweed off consumer.

sorry but as an being an hgv driver for over 7years having worked in many different sectors in the industry including parcels i do fully understand all to well form the sharp end of the job. as I'm sure you are aware things do sometimes happen which are out of the companies control. which could mean non delivery

I have in the past had people promise things just to get the sale you never know

ecotrojan - perhaps a little reminder of the rules pertaining to posting in this area is required, to post you MUST have 10 posts or more, the original post was less than this and, as such could quite easily have been deleted (trust me it very nearly was due to the rules) -

I appreciate you now have sufficant posts to leave this topic where it is, but I must add expecting a day after delivery which falls in to a weekend is overly optomistic in my honest opinion, the supplier will do all they can, but the rest is down to the delivery system - Mike

I agree on the rules thanks,

Regarding being optimistic - EasyDevices confirmed I would receive the item today. I re-iterated as per my large post above and was told the items would be here today.

I'm sure EasyDevices will be more than amicable.

I for one though (as the reason I am posting in the 'Retailers to buy or avoid' forum) are giving other board members / joe public an insight into how thing can & do go wrong. After all the majority of EasyDevices posts are complimenting them. I havent had a problem with them in the past but, this post however, highlights a negative transaction with EasyDevices.

Surely its in the 'boards' interests to see both sides of the fence.

Matt
