Just installed Webupdater to install the voice updates as listed on Garmin's website, although I'm intending to stay with firmware v2.7 for now......
How long should the connecting to server bit take?
After around 3 mins I cancelled it.
Searched the forum for detail about webupdater but couldn't find anything relevant to speed or an idiots guide for it!! |

Hi,
thanks for the reply just tried this again now and it worked in a couple of seconds. The only update shown available was firmware V3.0 which I'm not bothered about... sticking with v2.7
The garmin website mentions of voice update As this wasn't shown does that mean I already have it I ask because I bought my i3 oct last year and have upgraded initially from 2.4 to 2.5 and then 2.5 to 2.7 |

Its in the Change History section for the firmware downloads:
Quote: | Changes made from version 2.70 to 2.90:
Please use WebUpdater to make sure you are using the latest voice guidance. |
Here is the URL: http://www.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=995 |

just a quickie
have i, on a very rare occasion also missed something
when i updated the audio from 2.0 it only made changes to other languages, not english.
being ignorant, and therefore have only single language capabilities, what benefit would the audio upgrade have
also did anyone actually bother with these audio updates before the firmware mess ups of biblical proportion that were 2.9 and 3.0 |

Hi all and Matb,
Sorry mat, I don`t know how to use selective text on here, someone said click the quote box and thats what I got. It would be nice if someone could explain to us newbies!! how to do things properly.
The audio updates I thought was something that was required, I do remember updating some language files, but isn`t that seperate to the audio file. I assumed it was something to do with the voice directions etc
The sticky I will leave till I have something more concrete.
Dil. |
