Despite fatmanscoop's superb Mazda logo splash, I cannot get it to display on my TomTom Go 510.

I've followed exactly the same procedure to do the same for my brother's TTGo500 and it works 100%.

Is this because of the widescreen format of my 510? The original TomTom splash is 480 x 272 pixels with a res of 299 dpi. Also the file is called splashw.bmp.

I have tried naming the new splash both splashw.bmp and splash.bmp, but either way it refuses to display!!

Any ideas?

Use Adobe Photo shop or a similar picture edit package to re-size the image as the wide screen will be messing it up, if you want the Mazda image I would add black to either end of the existing logo/ image to make it the full wide screen pixel count the new x10 demands - Mike

Just checked and the image in the thread is a JPEG format, renaming it will balls it up.
Use somat like Paint Shop or Adobe and "Save As.." then you should have the option to save it as a BMP file

Right, thanks to both of you.

I'm going to have a go with my image editing software, as you suggest.

Will report back if successful.

Brilliant!! Laughing

Used Phtoshop to edit the splashes posted by fatmanscoop and now they all work OK. 8)

It seems that they must be named splashw.bmp (w=wide?) and be 480 x 272 pixels. They also need to be in landscape format.

The standard width splashes can be extended using the same software program, by using eg the clone tool.

Thanks to all for their help and advice.
