I've ordered a mount from gpsforless, and gone for a £19.99 custom mount for 4700

Didn't choose a speaker mount, as I wanted a model specific item, and also didn't want a sucker fix

Used the iPaq and TT5 yesterday and was disappointed in low volume

Are there any alternative solutions to bump up the sound?

Cheers

Two choices.

Cheapest is to buy a speaker mount - you can get them model specific. I would recomend Brodit mounts and I think they do speaker ones that are model specific.

More expensive is to link your PDA into the car radio using a Bluetooth kit - Not sure which will work with your kit - suggest you ask suppliers.

One final point - do you have the volume on the PDA and in Tom Tom at maximum?

Monty,

I have the same setup and find the sound to be fine at 80% volume we can still talk in the car and/or listen to the radio but still hear the calls.

What volume setting do you have it set to in TomTom? Mine is set to 80%.

Okay! Feeling a bit of an idiot here!!!

(I am new to TomTom and am no expert on the iPaq yet........)

Had the iPaq volume to 100%, but forgot the TT volume - 'twas only on 55%)

DOH! Embarassed

Easy mistake to make Monty. Set it to 80% - 90% and I'm sure you'll hear the difference.

Good luck Wink
