Hi Guys
I currently have a HP 2210 and TomTom Navigator using the original wired GPS receiver I got when I bought TTN V3.

I am considering upgrading to an Xda Exec, and am trying to understand what car mounts are available to connect it all up..... can I get an updated holder, and keep everything else, or do I have to get a BT GPS receiver?

Any help you can give would be great.

Thanks

the wired gps unit won't work with the Exec, so you will need a BT GPS unit, for a mount try Brodit, the swivel + Pro clip is great - Mike

Thanks Mike
Assuming I use a BT GPS receiver, will I be able to use a BT car kit or BT headset with the Xda Exec at the same time... i.e. can you have more than one BT connection to the Xda?

Cheers

You might want to look at the Parrot CK3300, which is a combined BT car phone kit and sat nav receiver. It still uses 2 seperate BT connections, but that should be OK for Pocket PC systems as they support multiple BT connections. If interested check Parrot's website http://www.parrot.biz/united_kingdom/index.php for compatability with your phone.

Yes the Exec will support this no problems at all, as for a GPS BT unit go for one with the SiRF III chipset, they are far better at getting signals in heavily built up areas (city centre etc) the 236 unit I have is probably the best purchase I have made in quite a while - Mike

I've found the integration to be pretty good between my Exec, my Haicom SS3 BT receiver (brilliant signal) and my Motorola BT Headset (HS805 rings a bell - takes rechargeable AAA's which last forever).

The voicedial still works (although there is a delay before it kicks in as TomTom dominates the CPU), the TT guidance is automatically muted during a call and unmuted at the end. Only occasionally does it get out of sync and I hear the guidance via the headset or the call pickup doesn't work.

I use the Exec in Landscape mode sitting on an oddments tray on top of the dash, with charge cables to both the Exec and the BT receiver.

HTH Pete
