Noticed for the first time the other day, as a new user of the software, that the safety camera POI's that I have entered as new units with CheckPOInt 2.0.2 don't have an icon. I noticed this obviously when returning to a road where I remember entering the data a few days before. Is it possible to create the safety camera icon that we all see when approaching such POI's and attach it to the file holding the position of the recorded safety camera? Or do I have to rely on, and wait for, updated pocketgps camera database files to show them?

I really need the visual warnings as well as the CheckPOInt audible warnings because I regularly have my ICE pounding away! Laughing

Hi russgun - like you I'm new to all this and had the same problem. All I did was to copy and paste the PocketGPS camera icon jpeg file into the same directory as it came from and then renamed it to match the name I gave the file of new camera sites.

It must be possible just to append the new sites to the existing database file, but I'll try that tomorrow......now if I could only get the sound warnings to work!

You having problems with the sound then Mearns? Mine seem OK, in fact I added some more the other day from an AT&T site that lets you write your own voice strings in .wav format.

Yes - I downloaded a wav file someone provided elsewhere on this site and it plays fine when clicked on in File Explorer. I've got it set for a first warning but it doesn't get triggered when passing a camera. I must have something muted somewhere but I just can't find out where. The file is in the map directory on the SD card and I've pointed to the file location ok but nothing happens! Crying or Very sad

Have you ticked the 'detect POI's from this overlay' box in overlay settings and have you got the CheckPOInt and pocketgps_UK_SC POI's checked in properties/POI?

Yes - all were checked. Just got it all working now with camera sound warnings in Demo mode but annoyingly I don't know how or why as I haven't altered any sound settings. Hopefully it will work on the real thing tomorrow!

Great to hear you've got it working mate, as I was just about to say I haven't a clue what's wrong with it. Laughing

Strange things these PDA's I find. They're often doing things you never ask them to, and never doing things you do! Angry
