Hi I've tried to follow the instructions in the first post regarding installing the single file version.

I attempted to expand the two single file TT Mobile files onto my MMC card and I appear to have the whole database extracted instead. Can someone confirm the only files I need are

pocketgps_uk_sc.ov2
pocketgps_uk_sc.bmp

and tell me where to put them ;) and which others I can delete? Sorry if this is basic stuff but it's the first time I've attempted to use the database and I'm new to GPS.

Aaahh, did you not extract (aka unzip) the downloaded package onto your PC first? Sounds like you might have tried to unzip it ALL onto your card.

If so, you'll have to get rid of all the spurious stuff clogging up the card, then go back to the original download on the PC, unzip it into a new folder on the PC, and then select just the two files you want, "copy" then "paste" into the map folder.

If that's not what you meant, my apologies, and ask again Smile

You have it - odd I've never had a problem unzipping part before.

However, I'm not sure what's new and what's old!

Andy

Thanks for your reply in short no all I have is the basic monthly updates, which are .ov2 and .bmp files which are not speed classified, I think we (you!!)have found the problem where do I get the required files (an idiots guide would be appreciated).

Do the files you listed replace the ones I currently have installed?

Thanks again[/quote]

Look back at the very first post in this thread, for a guide! Smile
All the files are in the download zip file. You un-zip that onto your PC and then copy and paste only the files you want - for example I use the speed-zoned gatso and mobile but not specs, so the redlight, specs and temp files come from the "ovs bmp files" folder and the gatso20,30,40 etc and mobile20,30,40 etc come from the "speed zoned" folder

Yes, otherwise you'll get both on screen (and trying to alert you) at the same time

I'm just about to install the latest database files on to my Navman iCN 550, but i'm a bit confused.

In the guide on page 1 of this thread, it says:

For Navman SmartST V3 SatNav packages
pocketgps_uk_gatso_30.csv

But in the which files should i use info, in the actual package, it says this:

asc files
POI-Warner utility, Navman SmartST V3, PiN100/300 SmartST V3, iCN510/635/650

So, should i use the asc files, or the csv files?

Many thanks Wink

Have you read the instructions here?

These instructions refer to the csv files and can be used in confidence.

The csv and asc are both text files but are associated to different programs, and as you become more experienced you can, in fact, use either.

For now I would stick to the csv files.

I just bought a TT One and wanted to load the camera sites on it. The installation guide at step 2 says "Ensure that TT Go (in my case ONE) is powered using the AC adapter." Firstly is this a mains adapter/charger?

Secondly, the TT ONE did not come with one. If I need one, where do I get one from?

Thirdly, to go back a couple of steps, I tried to back-up the SD card, and am not sure if that was successful. My back-up shows that there are 54 files and 9 folders totalling 109MB. Does that sound about right to anyone?

I backed-up without using the CD provided. To go back a further step, when I tried backing up using the CD, this also refers to a charger (or adapter - can't remember which), and then tells me that there is not enough space on my PC. There IS enough space.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

You do not need to have mains power to load Custom POIs onto the ONE. If you have a cardreader, take the SD card out of your ONE and put it into the cardreader. Then use Windows Explorer to copy the files you need (ov2 and .bmp) to your map directory.

Even if you don't have a cardreader, you can transfer the files to your ONE using a USB cable. Just be sure that the ONE has plenty of charge in its battery.

As for the mains adapter, it's the same one for the GO, ONE and RIDER. Have a lok at the links on the right; I'm sure at least one of our advertisers will be able to help you.

Thanks Graham. Thankfully, that's what I did.

Would you happen to know why CoPilot crashes when I try to open 'manage database?'

Hope you don't mind the supplementary Q.

Cheers

If you have Copilot v6 then the ov2 files can be copied directly to the copilot\save directory and they will be imported at the next startup of Copilot 6 on the ppc.

check the ALK Eu. support site or the Copilot forum on this site.

Howerver, The instructions on the Camera DB page are out of date or only for CP5.

Hopeflly the site moderators will update this soon..hint hint!!!

HELP, I just cannot get my M500 to give me warning of the cameras despite downloading the files and importing them into GB maps. Should the warnings be automatic or once on the M500 do they have to be set up manually? If so how do I go about it?????

Thanks

They have to be set up manually.

Goto Change Preferences > Manage POI > Warn When Near.
