TomTom 5 GPS log

Hi folks

I'm considering an upgrade to TomTom 5 from 3 on my iPaq prior to a trip to some World War II historical sites in France next month. I've played with 5 and really like the new interface, but I can't see anyway to log GPS activity? I'd like to run a log for the trip so that I can "play back" through Google Earth Pro. A couple of questions then:

1. Does V5 have a GPS log facility. If so - where in the software can this be accessed

2. Is it possible to log GPS outside of TomTom. If so - can anybody recommend and software to do this?

GPS Gate is one option - most people buy it to run more than one GPS application simultaneously, but one of its other features is that it can create a log of GPS data as it goes. So you could be logging from GPS Gate while also using TomTom, for example.
