Anyone here using PN on a WM5 device yet? I am using an XDA IIs with WM5 and cant get it to see my bt gps reliably. Under 2003SE PN was connecting to com 6 but when installed on WM5 com 6 is not listed under available ports in PN. I seem to be able to make a connection once if I delete my gps pairing and pair again from scratch but if i turn off the ppc and gps it wont connect again. When it does connect the com port it connects to still does not show up in PN and searching for it still gives the error gps not found, even though it is connected. I have tried disabling the builtin gps applet and setting an outgoing port to com6 for the gps but i still seem to connect only that first time after a new pairing. Anyone else with a WM5 device have better luck? I have emailed Destinator support but have had no reply. Thanks

The leaked WM5 you'll be running is not a good example! I think the beta version runs entirely in RAM doesn't it?

There aren't many Jasjar devices about yet and even fewer Destinator users so it may be a little early!

Hi
im using destinator PN running on JasJAr ( WM5 )
the problem is that when you let the bluetooth manager detect the gps. and then assign an outgoing port, you can't select all the ports that destinator PN can use ( 1,3,5,9 ) , due to the fact that these ports are already used by the device..

if anyone will overcome this problem, let me know..

You can manual edit with a hex editor the Destinator.ini file and enter the correct bluetooth port. The program will work correctly.

I emailed destinator about wm5 the other day I said:
when the wm5 update comes out for my axim x50v will destinator work on it.

she said:
Because their are still some problems with WM5 they are not trying to update destinator until wm5 is a bit more finalised, sometime around december, january estimated.

So i am waiting Smile

zipper9, here is what i did to get Destinator PN running.

1. Set the gps applet in settings > system > gps to automatically manage gps

2. After managing to get it installed ok i ran Destinator and went to the gps setup. I set the com port to com 1 and then pressed "set gps"

3. In the bluetooth control panel i paired my gps and created an outgoing port to com 6

4. Downloaded and ran a patch to create com 6 in the registry (you can get it from xda developers, search for tomtom6patch_526 and you may have to experiment with the correct com port that works for you. The file may possibly be available on this forum)

5. started PN again and went to the gps settings and searched for gps, was found on com6, then pressed "set gps"

after that i have had no problems running PN on my BA with WM5, it connects to the gps every time.

Yeah WM5 devices will be buggy if you risk installing any sat nav programs out at the moment as TomTom, Navman, Destinator etc are not supporting them as yet. I would recommend that you don’t purchase any software until they have it in there compatibility list.
