Anyone with a G2500 and dell x50v?

Thinking of buying a new ppc and wondered if anyone has this combo and what their thoughts were - I had a very early g2500 (feb/MAr 2004) for my ipaq 2210 and it got hot, the speaker was crappy and the power lead broke 3 times. So I'm more less certain I don't want to risk another g2500 but the mounts for the dell are very light on the ground.

I have had an x50v mount for a while. It seems that the data part of the connector is no longer working, but the Axim still charges fine and the rest of the functions are OK; this means that it can't be used with a cabled GPS receiver, but a bluetooth receiver would be fine; anyone interested?
