Purchased a Brodit Mount for my Motability Supplied Citroen Picasso. You are not allowed to make modifications to the vehicle including screw holes in the dashboard. The Brodit mount fits like a charm, looks very professional and will be easily removed when the time comes to change the vehicle. Fitted it in less than 5 minutes.

If I have a criticism, it is that the PDA holder has to be screwed to the clip. If it could be designed so that the holder slots into a clip on the Dashboard clip, (Like the Arkon Holder) I would only need a dashboard clip in my wife's vehicle to make the GPS device (Ipaq 3970 & Socket Bluetooth GPS) instantly transferrable.

The plug itself reduces the car's 12v power to 5v for the iPAQ. In addition. my particular plug has a fuse as well. In my own installation, I have an in-line socket wired behind the dashboard.

Maplin's sell such a cigar/accessory socket for 99p (as do other suppliers). The iPAQ power cable is then routed behind the dashboard in some way and left plugged into the newly-wired socket. How easy or difficult that is really depends on your car I guess.

At least this is the way my car was done. It makes a neat job and can easily be removed at a later date.

I am still extremely pleased with my Brodit mount. I can verify that installation took less than five minutes - I'd got my coat on, packed my toolbox and said my goodbyes. Within three minutes I was back inside again wondering what the catch was.

My car mount required two strips of sticky-back adhesive to be stuck to the dashboard to hold the clip in place, but I've found I didn't need to use them. The thickness of the sticky-back strips coupled with the excellent design of the clip's snap-to-the-dash installation meant you'd have to be a bit gung-ho to remove it (but you can if you need access to the dash screws that it covers up.

My only niggle is the 12v plug supplied rattles a little in the socket at speeds of 50+. I'm looking into ways around this at the moment. Can I hard-wire it, or is there a transformer in the plug of some kind...?

Top job!
