The Bluetooth Manager on my H2210 lists my BT-338 as...

BT-GPS-3080DE 8O

But what the heck - it works great!

My BT-338 device is reported as: BT-GPS-30C9C4

30:C9:C4 are the last 3 octets of the hardware address for the device i.e. 00:0D:B5:30:C9:C4

As the hardware address is supposed to unique then everyone should get a different name being repoted by their bluetooth managers.

Some devices broadcast a generic 'friendly' name such as my Holux GPS Slim which announces as 'HOLUXGPSSlim236' and others uses a unique name consisting of the Manufacturer and part of the hardware ID.

This is actually more useful. If you'd tried to bond with your TomTom Wireless GPS like I did at TomTom's HQ and found 40+ devices all with that name when searching you'd understand why!
