Hiya all
I’m thinking of getting a permanent docking mount for my ttg 300. My question is will the antenna work ok if I mounted it in the middle of the front bumper, as it's the only steel part of the car the rest of the body is aluminium (Landover discovery )

You might have issues with it being so low in front of the car - the car will effectively block about 30/40% of sky from aerial - the only way is to know for sure is to try it - but remember direction of vehicle will effect signal strength in that position.

You don't have to mount it externally - you can get improved signals within car by finding better place to mount aerial - I have routed mine to rear shelf (there is a nice steel bar in it which it locks onto)

Hi,
I've got a 2004 Discovery with a heated front screen and use the Tom Tom external ariel. I've installed mine and run the cabling along the bottom of the windscreen, down the side of the dash, underneath the door rubbers and onto the plastic facia below the rear side windows. Using some velcro I've stuck the square ariel onto this and it works a treat. Had some spare cable, thats neatly conceled under the dash.
Hope this helps
