hi everyone, i have a streetpilot 111 with a memory card and europe city loaded i do not have originall disc i amm traveling to Belgium and i would like plot a route how do i access it on the unit or do i have to download the info from a web site? John/

You need the CD which came with the GPS unit and the unlock code too. Without these, you can't change the maps.

It's slightly tricky because Garmin provide the CD with the unit so there is no need for most people to buy one. You should contact Garmin support and see what they say, they might give you a free replacement or offer a paid for upgrade to the latest maps.

The original owner will have the unlock code or they may be able to contact Garmin and either find out what the unlock code was or notify Garmin that the ownership of the GPS was transferred to you.

The unlock code you need is keyed to the serial number of the GPS. As well as preventing the piracy of the expensive map software, this means that if the unit is stolen then someone can't do much with it because Garmin will not give them an activation key.
