I have just returned from a long weekend in Wales.



They seem to have gone totally OTT with their revenue collection schemes.



The various councils seem to have wasted thousands of pounds of taxpayers money erecting traffic camera signs on 1 in 5 lampposts throughout all the towns and villages that we went through. There were actually cameras only in about 1 in 20 though.



Far worse is the mobile safety camera menace. We saw at least 4 different vans with forward facing cameras taking pictures through flaps in the van doors. By the time you see the vans it is too late. Now you would think that as these are "SAFETY" cameras they would be located in areas where you might expect a high accident rate? Reasonable assumption, but no. There were 2 located in laybys just round bends in long sections of Dual Carraigeway. Even worse, coming back today there were two on bridges overlooking the M4.



You make up your own mind safety cameras or revenue generators?
