It makes a huge difference to the number of maps the Quest can store if you do not include the route calculation data.

What exactly is this data? Confused

I will be touring Europe soon and can only fit all the maps I need if I do not include this data. What will I be missing out on? Question

Hey! This is the data which makes the maps actually useful! :D Without it, the Quest will show a map but won't give you the turn by turn directions or calculate routes.

The option to exclude it is for older GPS units which weren't able to do routing so you didn't waste memory on data that you didn't need.
