They are not known for lasting long but 1/2 hour seems a tad too short. I wonder if you had it in your pocket and it was on before you used it without knowing it easy done because all that is needed is something to touch one of the buttons I was caught with this before and have disabled the buttons heres how:-
Go into settings then poke the system tab at the bottom of the screen and poke the power control select the advance key at the bottom and then tick the option Disable User Keys. This helped with my problem.

The main battery drain is probably the backlight so you might also want to fiddle with the settings for that - reducing the brightness when it's on battery power and setting a short timeout so that it goes off after 10 seconds without the screen being touched. I walked around for a while like this the other day, just taking the unit out of my pocket every now and again to check that the navigation software was showing my correct location. It used it for at least an hour like this and had plenty of battery left afterwards.

Of course this isn't much use if it's a bright day and you're continually looking at the screen, in which case your only choice is to drag a small reactor around with you...

just had a problem with the battery in the medion, the light had stopped flashing on the pda so i presumed it was fully charged, took the pda off the charger swithched it on bang no charge, repeated the charge again same again. noticed that the slide lock for the battery cover was not locked slid it into lock and the pda shows full charge, but i cannot understand why or feel shure this was the reason,

Funny enough last night i charged up the orignal battery i had with the unit stuck it in and did not put the battery cover on. the unit lit up when turned on then just flicked off thought it had really gone wrong now stuck the new battery i had in same there too i then put the battery cover back on an away she went very odd im begining to think now that when it in the windscreen holder it sometimes pushes the battery slider button down therefore draining the battery ????

Thanks for you reply
