Hi all,

I've just got myself a Quest as an upgrade from my Garmin GPS V. The V was good but I found the limitations of download speed and map storage a pain.

So far the Quest looks excellent - need to play around with it some more but it seemed to re-route faster when I tested it.

Not so keen with the salesman - bit off-hand and not particularly helpfull, I asked about the RAM mounts and alternate power options and he said none existed! Perhaps he was having a bad morning, he seemed to want to get rid of me. Luckily I knew what I wanted, I just need to sort some better mounts and power out now as the cigarette lighter lead will annoy me.

I've not come across any other forms of feeding power to the Quest other than those it comes with or the Garmin motorcycle mount. If you find anything else make sure and post it here...on the other hand there's a RAM mount for every occasion and some.

I bought it from the GPS Warehouse. I'd bought the GPS V and some extras there and found them to be good - but this changed my view, I may look elsewhere in the future although they offer mail order and are local(ish). The price was good too.

I was not pleased to find that they come up on the RAM mount site as the place to buy as when I asked about alternate mounts to the suction cup he said that none were available. Now it's postage or another trip to get one.

That was my immediate thought! GPSW are RAM's UK Appointed Retailer. GPSW have always had a very good reputation for service, either you were unlucky and had a bad salesman or things have changed.

I have just fitted my Garmin Mootrcyle Mount to my 1150RT. It is a powered and audio enabled mount. It is connected into my autocom system togther with my phone, mp3 player and our two helmets. Works brill. You cannot LOCK the Quest onto the mount, but I wouldn't risk leaving it on the bike unsupervised if I could.

I am sutably impressed with this mount.
