I uninstalled Mio maps, hard reset, and loaded Tomtom Nav 2004. It appears on the startup and in programs but it will not load, it locks up and I have to soft reset. I think I have figured out the gps settings. Does the gps need to find a fix in orer for the program to load?

No, the GPS doesn't need to have a fix.

However, what you may try to do is do a hard reset, load just the GPS driver (from the gps.cab) , and then use the old control applet ("TomTom GPS.EXE") to see if the receiver is working.

If if is then the problem is somewhere in TTN2004.

Try removing the SD card and installing a small 16Mb Map into main memroy then test to see if TomTom launches?

Hi there, I could not load Tomtom 2004 on my navman pin which I think is a Mio. I downloaded the ipaq 2110 update from tomtom and it loads and runs. Don't know if this is the proper way to do it but it worked for me. good luck.....dusty

Go back to your original post and scroll down to the april 15th post by snooper about tomtom hp rz1710. link is posted in there. I don`t know how to post link or I would. Let me know if you find it OK. I just figured I would try it since nothing else worked and it worked.
