I'm trying to use this with the Surface Pro 2, using Windows 8.1. It connects fine but disconnects within 1-2 seconds.

Any idea why it might not work with this tablet?

My original One came with UK map and when I bought Central Europe [not all of it, just the map:-)] this came as detail country maps with major routes, I could load those I needed when I needed them.

The speaker is identical in size and fitting, you just need to cut the two wires from the old one and connect the new, solder if you're flash and capable or otherwise.

If it is the speaker (sound on the headphone , none otherwise) then Maplin do a replacement, it's the 20 x 40 one, unfortunately mail order only.
