you can get TT to work on your A201 but it can be a bit tricky and you can lose your activation code if it doesnt work right.

there appears to be an incompatibility issue with TT5 and the A201 which means the device code for the PDA changes which caused problems when registering tomtom.

tomtomGO700 gets my vote (until the new ones launch) cos it has all the features i could ever need and more.

it sounds like you may have been supplied with a less than legit version of the software and if so then upgrading or changing anything on the card will likely prompt you for a code.

make sure you've got the v5.21 update installed then select other cable NMEA, baud 4800 & serial cable SP2 i think it is.
