On my old PC, it wouldnt recognise the I3... however tried on my new laptop and it's fine.

I got an external one for my I3, for use when using hire cars with athermic / heated windscreens.

As MaFt advises, never been a problem with the 250.

Does the 250w have a socket for an external aerial ?

Yeah, sorry, Nuvi 250 (not widescreen).

The in-box windscreen mounts plus the additional friction mount fit either my i3 or my Nuvi 250.

On this basis, I reckon it should work.

On the I3, you could use the satnav whilst connected - with the nuvi you just get a black screen showing a picture of a nuvi co ...

I think the usual technique is :

Heat the disk up using a hairdryer (this should soften the glue) and see if you can prise off.

If not, use some fishing line under the disk to slice through the ...
