I must admit, I've never noticed that before... Now that you guys mentioned it... yes, the arrow movement is slightly more responsive when the route is planned.

Mio C510E and Navman ICN530 are really worth checking out!
There are lot cheaper than TomTom units and come with European maps with lots of other useful features thrown in.
