Is it possible to update my 520t maps without updating firmware version.
I'm very happy with fm transmitter and tripmaster etc all working well, but would like to update maps.

| Further to the FM transmitter being of no use any more for "so called" legal reasons, why are Tomtom still advertising units on their website that have FM functionality?. Or am I missing something? |

| Having installed v 7.480 but stopping short of 7.481 I only get offered the update option of 7.481. Presumably I need to go through the 7.481 update before I can proceed to 8.010. Is it worth it ?? Or ... |

| Try releasing the button after about 4/5 seconds (nothing on the screen @ this stage). That's how mine starts. (ver 7.480) |

| Try it in demo mode on a route you know has cameras. It might give you a clue as to whether it might work !! |

| I lost my camera warning sounds (not the cameras) after the recent 7.480 update. Got them back by going to "tt safety cameras" then "disable alerts" then "re-enable alerts" --sounds back on. Worth a ... |

| The roads on the campus may well be "pinked out" as being private road/property. Try clearing the pink campus roads and try again. Might work. |

I solved it in the end by fitting a belkin pci usb card to a spare pci slot, and it worked perfectly from then on!!The card was probably a USB2.0 whereas older computers might still be using USB1.1
