Does the buddies function work OK with the default icon? Just checking what stage you have got to. _________________ Gerry

Hi Gerry
Thanks for the reply. My Buddies default icon running man works fine. I downloaded 2 new ones so I could tell the diffeence between my 2 buddies. According to the tomtom blurb for creating your own you have to rename your icon to match your buddies, which as you know is their email address. The bit that has confused me is they say you can only use 0 - 9 and A - Z and use underscores for everything else. Any ideas? _________________ TomTom Go premium |

Looking at the Create your own content page, it's basically saying anything other than a letter, number or hyphen you change to an underscore.
It doesn't really help that the examples are not valid buddy names for two reasons (not in email address format and there's a space in it ).
As far as I can tell, something like John.Doe@hotmail.com would use an icon named altbuddy_john_doe_hotmail_com.bmp .
Remember to have some transparency (solid red) around the outside so that the different status colours come through. I'm assuming that's how it works because you can't have custom ones on the x30s.
Have a play about and see if you can get it working. You could become the expert that we all turn to. _________________ Gerry

Hi Gerry
That seems to work fine now. It was just confusing with the underscores in place of all @ and dots, but they show up fine on the map and I can tell who is where at a glance. Thanks for your help.
