|
|
Had a GO 510 which used to display the current road position in the blue bar running along the bottom of the satnav even thought a route had not been planned. I used to find this feature quite useful.
I now have a GO 730 and this feature doesn't seem to be available anymore ?? I've checked several times over the Status Bar Preferences & Street Name Preferences but cannot get the current name of the road to show when a route is NOT planned.
Is this feature no longer available.
Also being a new TOMTOM, speed cameras are featured BUT I want to include the ones from GPSWorld. If I copy them across what will happen to the TomTom cameras. Thanks. |

The road name that you say is missing has moved to the top of the screen leaving more room on the display for the map view. I am not sure you can display the road name without a route planned though.
If you don't want the TomTom Saftety Cameras on the device you can use the TomTom Home Application to remove the files or, go to TomTom Plus Services/ Safety cameras and disable them on the device - Mike |

It doesn't appear in the blue bar, but just above it.
It's on the second page (after orientation) of the Show on the status bar preferences menu. _________________ Tim |

Yes, I noticed that it appears just above the blue bar on the map but it is quite small to read (its an ageing thing !!). No chance of it appearing in the lower part of the blue bar (quite large) as on my 510 then ?? |

Definetly doesn't appear at the top of my screen. I've got 'Show current street name' in the Preferences selected but thought that might relate to when a rout is planned ??? |

Mike says above "Ignore this bit..."
The "next" road has moved from the bottom of the status bar to the top right of the screen (as if it is a road sign), but as far as I know, the "current road name has been in the main display just above the status bar ever since the x20 models came out. |
