|
|
My 520 has suddenly decided not to locate itself correctly on the road I am on (by about half a mile) and also seems to have developed a severe delay in deciding where it it is and what direction its facing - making the machine unusable.
It shows 9 satellites selected.
Following your instructions a while back I copied all the files onto my computer using explorer, and hoping to cure this problem I tried to copy them back onto TomTom but it says there is not enough memory on the machine.
Help please - I'm stuck.
Thank you in advance to anyone who can assist.

Its always worth doing a reset by the pin hole at the bottom of the sat nav as this often cures many problems !!
Also what software version are you using ??? and have you added many POI on your sat nav ?? |

I echo John's comments, as for lack of space I can only assume you are only using the internal memory and do not have an SD card installed. I cannot remember what size the UK maps are but if you have added \poi's and favourites you have probably outgrown the internal memory.
There is a thread describing your problem, I too have suffered the problem and a reset as John describes worked for me.

Thanks Dave and John - the paper clip reset solved the problem - many thanks.
I am only using internal memory at the moment but have only loaded the speed camera database from PWGPS. The version on my machine is 7.481.

Re-reading the OP, when you tried to copy your back up back to the device, did you get a box asking if you wanted to keep or replace the files you were copying, if so what was your response?

Glad you got it sorted
There is a new version of the software available 8.010 !! some people I believe prefer the older version I myself find the newer version okay !! but if you use the compass you will lose it if you upgrade to the newer version.
One point about the newer version is if you upgrade your maps in the future to make use of the lane assist and IQ routing features you will need the newer version of the software
Don't forget to make a back up in windows explorer before you do any updates as Tomtom home can be unreliable |

Dave - the window read something like "not enough memory you need another 160 mb" with no options for keep or replace.

This "Off-road" problem has been discussed quite a bit. Most recently in THIS topic and THIS topic.
I haven't had it happen to me in ages... but saw it again briefly over the weekend. |
