|
|
Has anyone come across this one before. My 520 which is about 5 months old and has decided to start turning itself back on. Not everytime but usually when I take it off the screen and turn it off, I put it into a tomtom case and then after about 30 secs or so it turns itself back on. Sometimes I hear it or when I return to the car it is on. I have tried turning it off and leaving it out and it has done the same occasionally. I normally use it connected to 12v. More so now because the battery is usually flat or very low.
It is not the case which is semi-hard and can't possibly press the on button for the time needed.
Any suggestions. |

Try a reset on the device - hold the little reset button in on the underneath with a paperclip until it powers off.
If that doesn't work try the clear flash tool - do a search on here for the link.

What version of software have you got installed to the 520? - tap the sat strength meter and it will state the version in a small box on the righthand side of the screen - Mike |

Mike
I still have 7.221 having avoided 7.481 because of the early signs in these forums.
I can't pin it down to any event when it started, but I will try a reset to start before using Clear flash which sounds a little more dicey.
It takes a while before I know whether there is any improvement because it happens mostly after being in use in the car.

Mine has done similar things before and either a reset or restoring from a full Windows Explorer backup has cured it.

ClearFlash doesn't do anything too "dicey" either.
I've used it a few times and it doesn't mess up any of your personal settings or data. |
