|
|
Hi I have not had problem with my original map on my 910 since I bought it.
I recently upgraded to a new map V710.1561. It appears since that every time I update the camera data base every camera defaults back to 'bell 1'. This is obviously a pain to have to reset each camera back to my prefered sound.
I don't know if its connected but I can't upload any map share changes, but I have just emailed TT about that.
I would be gratefull for any assistance re the sound problem
Thanks |

See my thread already covering this at:

It's already 3 pages long.
In the end I gave up and used the .ogg voice files. But sadly find these too quiet given TomTom's desire to boost the volume of the Computer Voice.[/url] |

Thanks for the reply, I have read all 3 pages & understood not a lot. It appears that Home 2 is the problem not my map update?
I think I will have to get used to a new sound as I am fed up with changing sounds every update as I also assume that TT will not be bothered by a probem with PGPS!
If you guys do find an answer I would be grateful if you could let me know.
Thanks again |

It's a long-standing bug. It seems to occur much more frequently if you connect to the PC and/or use Home, but CAN happen without connecting up at all.
The best work-round I know is to get it all set up correctly, and then immediately take a copy of the MapSettings.cfg file from your map folder. This contains details of all your warning setups.
Keep that copy both on your PC and on your TT (outside the map folder) so you can quickly copy it back into place if the warnings get reset. |

Thanks I will try that.
They don't tell you when you buy a SaT Nav you also need a degree in computing do they! |

!!
It's your own fault for putting the two together!
If you never updated anything or plugged it in to your PC at all, it would carry on working like it did out of the box |
