|
|
Hi
The inbuilt GPS on my HTC P3300 seems to have stopped working. On starting TT6 it either comes up with "no Valid GPS device" or "Waiting for valid GPS signal".
I have tried frigging around with GPS settings on the device - it was on COM4 and tried changing there (tried COM0 and COM8) and also in TTN swapping from using inbuilt GPS device to Other NMEA and back and so on - soft resets, reverting to backup from 1 week ago when all worked OK but no joy so far.
Am tearing my hair out and have no idea how to proceed to get it working.
One thing that may have have some bearing is that I recently installed Fugawi and tried it out successfully but neither it nor TTN now pick up GPS signals now.
Any help appreciated. |

Lets get the Artemis back to standard, go to Start/ Settings_Systems Tab/ External GPS set this up as follows:
Programs Tab COM4
Hardware Tab (None) and Baud 9600
Access Tab Manage GPS Auto selected
Now start TomTom and go to configure the GPS within the application, if you are running 6,020 or 6,030 simply select the "Built In GPS Receiver" option and it will work, if you don't get this menu option simply choose "Other NMEA GPS Receiver", Baud Rate 9600 and COM4 this will then work fine unless there is something wrong with your Artemis - Mike |

well these things sure are mysterious - it could almost make me religious
left the danged thing on all night on the window cill and come morning it had sorted itself out. I wish I understood what was going on - I wasted most of Sunday faffing around - trying this, trying that each time waiting for it to acquire 10-15 mins minimum per time and it just wouldn't play.
All I Know is that GPS settings on the device are defaulted and TTN set to built in GPS receiver. But for some reason those same settings didn't work earlier on yesterday!
A question - could it be that Fugawi caused the problem in the first place? |

The quick GPS is only there to assist in time to first fix, if it is out of date the device will still work although it will take longer to acquire a signal the most probable reason it wouldn't work was the other application Fugawi still running in the back ground as Alix mentioned.
Should you want to use multiple GPS applications on the same device at the same time look at intstallation of Fransons GPS Gate, it can do far more than port share and permitts multiple GPS dependent applications to run on the PDA, the only thing to watch is processor power and the resultant battery drain when away from the car - Mike |

If the QGPS is outdated on mine it could take literally hours to get a fix. Once it took 6 over hours. _________________ o2 XDA Stellar
