I am using Home V1.3 (not having upgraded to the new version due to the problems I constantly read about).
Recently I have noticed that when I open the program a "Download updates" bar automatically appears in the bottom right hand corner. When this finishes the program crashes and a box comes up saying "TomHOME.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
Does anybody have any suggestions please? : |

When I installed Home v2 (and v2.1) I kept v1.6 too.
After I'd downloaded a few Mapshare updates via v2 (and 2.1) I went back to v1.6 for a look and it said something along the lines of "you have made updates using a newer version of Home, changes made with THIS version may not be compatible".
I think you need to bite the bullet too.
Home v2.1 seems pretty stable to me. I was actually quite impressed the way it led my friend through a map purchase and installation (as well as helping him delete an old map to make room).
Coming from me, ('cos I instinctively HATE Home) that's BIG praise! |
