TomTom One version 1.
I'm off to America next year and plan to buy the US maps before I go. Couple of questions:
1. Can I have both the UK and US maps on my device at the same time?
2. If yes to 1, how does the TT1 distinguish between a postcode and a US zip code?
Thanks in advance.

The number of maps on your SD card is only limited by it's size. The USA_Canada map will require almost 1 gb of space. But your question gives the impression that all the maps are functioning at once. This is not true. You have to switch maps according to where you are located.
So you should probably leave your present UK card as is and get yourself a 1 or 2 gb card to hold the new map (plus the operating software). When you arrive in America, just pop in the new card. |

The Zip Code data is held within the Map data, in much the same way that the Part Postcode was in earlier Maps.
The only difference that I can see is when you use Address | Postcode the keyboard allows immediate access to the numbers and when you have made your selection you carry on to the Street/number selection.
If you choose Address | Street & Number, you have to select the numbers keyboard, or you can directly input the name.
Both ways work.
It just ignores the UK Postcodes.
And yes you can have both Maps on the same SD Card, if it's big enough. _________________ Richard

Thanks for the prompt replies.
That clears it up for me.
