Hi all,
Am new to this but bought Mio P350 recently, told I could get wifi access with Spectec SDW821 card. Cannot download driver due to "no device detected in usb" message popping up on my PC. Is there a particular driver that I need? Cannot find a usb driver for P350. I can download music from my pc but nothing else. Any ideas?

Hi Alan,
Installed Activesync 4.5 from microsoft website. Was able to synchronize some programs from my pc, then when I tried to download the spectec WLAN card, Activesync started to play up and I haven't been able to sync since. It has gone back to saying it does not recognise device in usb. Should I remove all Activesync and Spectec programs and start again? Thanks for your reply.

Hi Darryl,
A Google link confirms that the P350 is on the SDW821's compatibility list, but the only forum I found is in Spanish. So (since I'm not an expert), I can only give the standard IT support answers , yes uninstall and reinstall Active Sync and the Spectec software, and/or Hard Reset the P350 (switch at bottom). I would Reset the P350 first, if it's not too inconvenient (I'm not a WM5 user, so not sure how much has to be re-loaded/reset). I gather the P350 doesn't come with an on-board backup utility ("Sprite Backup" is recommended, but not free), so you can only backup onto the PC using Active Sync.
How exactly are you "downloading the ... card"? Is it a standard Windows .EXE installer that runs on the PC? Is there any sign of a .CAB (installer) file that you can transfer directly to the P350 (via Windows Explorer and Active Sync, or even a SD card reader) and then run the .CAB on the P350 (tap on the file name in Explorer on the P350)?

Hi Alan,
I actually removed activesync and spectec from pc completely, and removed activesync from pda. Did soft reset on pda, re-installed activesync 4.5 and works like a charm. Configured pda to sync files, etc coz I don't have outlook installed on my pc but I can live with that. About to attempt spectec download. Fingers crossed. Contacted spectec and techy said similar to you as in download cab file on to pc and sync across. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks a billion for your input so far. I owe you a beer!
Darryl
Hi Alan,
I was finally able to get onto wifi with spectec card, but what a carry-on! Had to reconfigure wireless modem because pda would not recognize it? Have you heard of this happening before? Sounds pretty inferior in this day and age! Anyway, all is up and running and life is sweet again. Cheers for your help
Darryl
I'm having trouble with a P350 and a WiFi SDIO card. Could you please post exactly how (step by step please, I'm pretty slow) you reconfigured the wireless modem?
