Hey!
when i got my unit i had bluetooth software 2.4 and now that i updated to 2.8 i can no longer use all the functions with my lg vx8700 verizon phone.
it pairs, but i cannot see the address book, the voice dial doesn't say anything when pushed...
anyone know where to get old bluetooth software versions or thoughts on how to get the lg vx8700 working?
1. i heard something about a hidden menu?
2. i have repaired the phone with the nuvi from both the phone and nuvi a number of times
3. i tried going back to SW 3.7 and same issue (so i believe it is the bluetooth SW issue) |

The BT update is seperate from the firmware in your unit - it updates the internal Parrot-based BT hands free system, so downgrading your nuvi f/w will not downgrade your BT. I don't believe its possible to retrograde the BT firmware - but if it is I'm sure someone will reply :D
Is your phone on the list of supported phones? If so - then contact Garmin. If not then have a look at the phone manuf. site and see if there is anything about connecting to Parrot hands-free units. I have a Nokia N72 which is not on the list and barely connected to my 660 - but a download from Nokia fixed the issue (allowing contacts to be automatically transferred etc) _________________ Phil |

However, it's not a step I would likely take, as I have no idea whether the bluetooth config files would support a downgrade, and also whether the main unit firmware was ever tested / would work with an elder version of the Bluetooth firmware.
So, technically possible, but not something I would recommend. _________________ Please don't be offended if I do not reply to a PM - please ask questions via the forums. |
