The voice files can live on the SD Memory card, create a folder named "voices" (don't put the speech marks in the name though) in the root of the memory card, the root is the first level you see when you open the card using Windows Explorer.
Place the dataXX.chk and dataXX.vif in the voices folder, if you have custom or celeb voices they will also have a dataXX.bmp file associated, put the dataXX.bmp files in the voices folder as well.
Next create a folder called "TomTom" (again no speech marks) in the root of the card, don't put anything in it, its presence is all that is required to make the program see the voice files are on the card, this saves precious memory on the device.
The XX part of the file names is a number ranging from 01 to 99, you can see the actual country the voice applies to by opening the .vif file with Note pad, it will list what voice and country that file is for. For example data07.vif opens and displays:
"English(US) - Lori
data07.chk "
English(US) - what a contradiction in terms, there is only one English IMHO - Mike |

Thanks | Yes, they work fine, I only tend to use Liz Whitt as a Celeb voice, this is better than the voices supplied with the device IMHO, load them in the way explained above and you will be fine - Mike |

You can also double click on the .bmp file for celebrity voices on the pc to see who is. |
