You don't actually navigate to speed cameras? You navigate to other places/POI's and the TT alerts you there is a camera nearby.
If you merely want to see where the nearest cameras are, you can navigate to POI near destination and select a camera file ( i.e. pocketgps_uk_gatso40 ) & providing there is a 40mph gatso camera within the distance you set, it'll show up.
That is not really what the database is for though.
You enable them, add some 'Warn when Near' alerts, navigate to a POI, such as Airport - Heathrow, then as you drive along you r TT will tell you what type and speed ( if you use Zoned ) the approaching camera is.

Dave, As Hirvevarra has said you don't just enable the POI you need to go to Change Preferences/ Manage POI/ Warn When Near POI and configure this option for each camera category you have installed, its a once only opperation, updates are simple to just replace the ov2 data. To Start with have a read through a few of the links provided from THIS Page - Mike |

On registering, you will have been provided with links &/or installation info. The basics are download the database, unzip it, copy all of the unzipped files ( ov2 & bmp ) across to your map folder ( GB, GB_plus, etc.. ), Enable them, add Warn when near alerts, use.
Note: if you have not copied ogg voice files across, you will need to select an alert sound from the list. If you did copy them, it will use the ogg file of the same name as the ov2 camera file.
Any of that sound familiar?
Which database did you download?
Which version - OV2 or Home?
Have you got the ogg files ( i.e. from Rays Site ).
Have you set your Warn when Nears
Just noticed * mikealder * drop in with info. Thanx. |

Dave. Have just read you Double Post.
Can you tell us whether you are having trouble with POICapture or PGPSWorld Camera Database? _________________ Richard

I am having a similar problem with the 'warn when near POI' as when I select one POI, the others seem to vanish from the menu. Also I have tried the OOG method for sound, but the option for choosing 'bell' etc is still there. Any tips?

H | If you can still choose the bell, etc. for any particular POI file, then the OGG for that POI file does not exist. Check that the names match ExActlY, that they are in the correct folder, and that you don't have double file extensions (x.ogg.ogg). _________________ Jock

As far as I can see, I have done exactly as you have described. I'll have another trial tonight though. Out of interest, does it work on the PDA version, as well as the One (my dad has the one, I have PDA). The bell, etc were still there to choose

The ogg file method works fine on the PDA version using TomTom Navigator version 5, x or 6,x THIS Page contains specific information, the same method will work for PNA or PDA - Mike |
