So i whant to change the splashscreen, add somes voices and more..
but when i connect myn TTGO300 on myn computer i dont see its "hardDrive" i only see the card reader device and of course the files inside the SD Card how is inside of the TTGO

If it is a 300, there is no Hard Drive.
When connected to the PC, via USB lead, it does only see what is on the SD Card. It acts like a Card Reader.
When the 300 boots up it loads everything it needs from the SD Card.
In which way does it appear that HOME is not compatible?
To change the Splash Screen, you need to change the splash.bmp File in the Root of the Card. _________________ Richard

ok may be not hard drive inside of it, but at least memory inside of it !
because i can read in "setup" 32Mb Ram (free:14.9 mb) and this is not myn SD card because she have 128Mb
i have put one splash.bmp on the root of the SD card but nothing happen !
and for the home the error was something like
"sorry but your tomtom device is not compatible with tomtom home" |

There is nothing stored in the memory of the TomTom, everything is on the SD card. That is all you need to access (which you can do either with the Go plugged in via USB or by a card reader.
The splash screen WILL work if you have it named correctly.
One common mistake is calling it "splash.bmp.bmp" because you have windows set to hide file extensions (turn it off in Windows Explorer Tools menu / Folder Options / View tab).
It also has to be the right size and shape and rotated through 90 degrees. This has been discussed at length, try a search for "splash screen"
To get you started:
1. Select photo
2. Use any program to re-size (i.e. photoshop) to size 320 x 240 pixels
3. Rotate 90 degrees clockwise
4. Save pic in BMP format as splash.bmp on desktop
5. Plug in ttgo
6. Open ttgo in my computer
7. You will see a file called splash.bmp RENAME it to splash1.bmp
8. Copy the new splash.bmp from your desktop straight on to ttgo in same place
Miss out any of those steps and it won't show up. |

Give us a chance....
Tomtom classic did not come with a splash screen so not strange at all. From your pictures you still have v4 software, as far as I remember you need to be on v5 at least for the splashscreen to work.
Get a larger SD crd and copy the original onto that. Put the original away safely. Then update your software.
Incidently, it is not a good idea to post photos that show the device code of your hardware or product code of your maps. |
