Hi,
I'm getting no helpful response from TomTom with this problem so I hope some brainy individual might have a suggestion!
I just bought TT Nav 6 software and maps of Western Europe for ~£100.
Hooked up ActiveSync. Started TomTom HOME.
Selected my preferred maps/voices etc
Failed to install (only partly on miniSD).
Hit Download Updates (Frustration!*?). Still failed.
Found out card is duff. Bought new card. Repeated installation via HOME.
Bingo! Working TomTom on my vario.
The problem is the missing Camera Database. It ain't on the DVD or on my hard drive or miniSD card. When I hit Updates in HOME it says there are none. All the camera icons on my phone are greyed out except the Update Camera icon. Hitting this asks me for a username/password (dont have!).
I know I can get a camera database from this site (will if I can't solve this problem) but I'm a bit vexed that having paid for a product I am denied access to an import feature!
TomTom "support" say the camera database is a "one time" download and I guess that after the original installation failed with the duff card HOME only has an "update" service?
Would be grateful for any suggestions. |

Hi, Don't know anything about TomTom, but seam to remember reading on here, you have to regester first, before you can download it, hence, asks for a username/password. _________________ Audi A3 Sline sat nav |

The request for a "UserName" and "Password" is to access your TomTom Plus account where you can access downloads/ updates etc where applicable. The speed Cmaeras are currently listed at 39.95 Euros for a 12 month purchase, I to didn't get a free download on my new device when I installed so either we are both unlucky, or perhaps the free download has stopped?
I have loaded the cameras from this site as I have tried both offerings in the past and I know which I would rely upon - Mike |

GOT MY CAMS DATABASE!!! - thanks for all suggestions.
Problem solved - the answer is to log in and enter email and password. After this I got download - it just seemed to do everything auto. The HOME Log In Icon/Button colour - a pasty wishy washy colour doesnt help - it looks disabled.
To be fair to TomTom they did say Log-In in HOME - I should have just kept hitting the log-in button.
I am now more than happy with this tt product. Well recommended.
BTW I just added up all the codes/etc associated with TT nav 6:
Product code
Activation code
Device code
Email address HOME log in
Password HOME log in
Email address TomTom log in
Password TomTom log in
User name (getting cam updates from phone)
Password (getting cam updates from phone)
(still dont know where the last 2 are coming from!)
My online banking is far simpler! |
