|
|
Hi, hope someone here can help me please.....
I have TomTom Navigator installed on an Orange SPV M2000, and am trying to get it to connect to the GPS within the ThinkNavi Cradle.
However, having sat there for hours, trying every available baud rate under 'Other Cable NMEA GPS' on every COM Port shown (COM9, Serial Cable on COM1, COM2), it STILL tells me there is no GPS device found.
Any suggestions please?
Many thanks in anticipation |

Fix found
For future users........
You need to go into settings, Beam Connections and turn them off.
It then recognises Serial Cable on COM1 at 4800 Baud rate (not 9600 as per the manual!!) |

I have read in a couple of places the baud rate is wrong. I have an m2000 and am about to buy one of these cradles, how have you found it so far? I want to put mine on the dash as I dont like the gps on the windscreen. I have been a using a garmin ique for the last 2 years which is great I dont want two devices in the car. The Think Navi looks like a really good product, tell us how its going. |

Now i have got it working, it's great!
They provide a speaker cable with it to enhance it if needed, I don't in my car 'cause it is tiny
One point, it IS worthwhile getting one of these http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=42895&doy=2m12D as you need to have it plugged in for GPS to work, and if you are like me, you need your mobile plugged in as well on long journeys. |

Now that you've had it for a while do you have any of these symptoms with the M2000 and the Thinknavi? http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=28701
It begins with the Holux setup but it did affect the Thinknavi too.
Also, do you hear a racket everytime your phone 'hunts'. You know, that dig...digga...dig sound. Drove me mad on the Holux and Thinknavi cradles and I disconnected the speaker on both. _________________ Tom Tom GO 720
