|
|
Yesyerday I had to re-install all my software to my iPAQ 2210 because the backup battery had gone flat. In this state I was unable to switch the iPAQ on and when placed in the cradle the LED did not come on indicating that it was charging/charged.
The main battery was fully charged.
I had to remove the main battery for a short while to get it to reset.
The only thing I can think of is that I may have left TT5 running in the background, instead of closing it down, when I switched it off. I seem to remember reading somewhere that this can cause the battery to flatten, is this right?
Cheers

Until yesterday I would have said no, but today I have seen the very same effect on my 6315. Out of curiosity - how's your storage card formatted? FAT32? _________________ Lutz

I have a Mio 168 (built-in GPS) and have had this happen with both tt3 and tt5. Have now (finally) learnt my lesson and backup the whole PDA when I sync with my PC....
But yeah, I've found that if you leave the app running on batteries(particularly if it hasn't got a good GPS signal and keeps trying) it is quite easy to drain the PDA completely. |

Not sure what the SD card is formatted at, how do you tell?
I've done some experimenting since I posted my original message. I've left TT5 open and switched off the iPAQ for a couple of hours, there was no drain of the back-up battery. Perhaps it takes longer to show any drain, when it failed it had been switched off for about 4 days and I don't think it was sat in the cradle properly.
I'll have to get Sprite Back-up before I do some prolonged testing, I don't want to have to install everything again!
I'm at a loss to explain what would drain the back-up battery but leave the main battery fully charge.
