|
|
Could anybody tell me why I can't make all my iCN 510 POIs ACTIVE. I have entered all the safety cameras (speed zoned) which if loaded as seperates e.g Gatso 20 --- Gatso 30 etc take up 16 spaces in the POI section and all can be made active but when I enter further POIs eg National Trust Sites etc I am unable to make them ACTIVE (I can enable them in the iCN program and tell the unit to remember the settings, but when the map is used or you return to the POI site again they have switched off again) yet the manual says that it should be possible to enter up to twenty-five POIs. I have tried disabling the active facility on a couple of the camera programs but to no avail. I have got a 512Mb card in the unit and only about a third of it is is being used. Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks

I had the same problem Stanshawe. Once I loaded more than 19 Poi's, a couple of the speed cameras (mobile and specs) were not active even though they were activated when I loaded them on. Once I took off a couple of other POI's they were okay again. I did post the very same question on this forum a few weeks ago but have had no reply to it, so maybe we are the only ones with this problem. |

I have had the same problem, but when I turn them on, they remain off. I tried to load the Gatso's etc with different speed limits, I thought all was ok till I approached a 30mph camera and no beeb, when I got home and checked, it was off, and with a load of others. I was surprised as I did not have nineteen active. I took all off and reloaded them, no difference.
anybody got any ideas |

Im having the same problem with a new navman 520. It seems to be the order in which you load them onto your icn that determines wether they are active or not. if you say you want them all active it appears to be only the first few (less than 20) that appear to be active once you check through the settings in the menu of your icn. no amount of changing and saving settings in the icn menu changes any of them to active. any ideas anybody? |

I've just bought an iCN520 and am having exactly the same problem.
There is no logic to this as some of the latter POIs I downloaded were OK.
I have posted a message on the Navman website forum. Let's see if there is any feedback.

The system uses those it finds first as they are store in the File Allocation Table. This is not necessarily alphabetical or in the order that you copied them. _________________ Richard

From what you're saying, can I assume that the maximum active list would be around 18?
Many thanks.

The 510 was 24, and I would assume that it would be the same for the 520. _________________ Richard

The maximum POIs total is 25 which is a number documented in the User Manual.
The active POIs (i.e. where you receive an audiio & visible alarm) must be a lesser number which I'm guessing to be around the 18 mark, which is a topic not covered in the User Manualor anywhere else that I can see.

Why would the Active Poi's have to be less than the Maximum allowed? _________________ Richard

I have the same problem. This is what i found out ( I don't know if its your solution but it works for me) :
Open your POI file in Notepad.Check if you POI's are NOT on 1 big line but check if every poi has his own line.
What i mean is this :
exampe good file:
00000,00000,"asdfasdfsad"
00000,00000,"asdfasdfsad"
00000,00000,"asdfasdfsad"
00000,00000,"asdfasdfsad"
exampe wrong file:
00000,00000,"asdfasdfsad"000,00000,"asdfasdfsad"00000,00000,"asdfasdfsad"
Check it for you own file's. With the wrong file i did not get it "Active" |

In response to Richard, that's the question I'm trying to ask. Why isn't it 25 - after 18 or so, they don't maintain their parameters?
In terms of MNI, all are on different lines.
I have found a way round the problem - I deleted around 6 POIs reloaded the ones I specifically wanted as safety alerts (ie. the Spped Cameraa details), and then re-loaded the other non safety ones and it works fine.
