|
|
Hi guys.... I have a couple of questions, wonder if anyone can help?
I have just bought a iPAQ 3970 with a Navman GPS jacket. Can someone tell me what the slot on this side is for? I take it its for a mem card of some kind, but what kind and what for?
Also, I am trying to find some kind of car vent mount as the window mount is cr*p! Does anyone know of any decent places on the internet that sell vent mounts compatible with the Navman?
Thanks and sorry for the silly questions!! |

The slot is for a Compact Flash card. Make sure you put it in the correct way around. It will go in the wrong way if you try hard enough and will breack the pins inside the sleeve. _________________ Tim |

yes, the slot is for a memory card.
It will take Compact Flash cards and this will be used to store the maps required for satellite navigation.
If you do not already have a CF card I would recommend at least a 256 MB but 512 MB would be better. (You can never have too much storage space) _________________ Ian.

Can't help with the Ven mount question but the slot is a standard Compact Flas (CF) slot. See here. _________________ Darren Griffin |

thansk for the quick replies guys!!
But I have my maps in the card slot in the iPAQ. Is this just for extra storage?
How do I get the maps onto the CF card as I put the pda into the cradle to sync with the pc, but have to remove it from the sleeve first?
Am I being stupid? |

The cradle has a slider on each side. If you leave the sleeve on and then put the iPAQ into the cradle, these two sliders will lock down. When you want to dock the iPAQ without the sleeve, press the button at the back of the cradle and the two sliders will pop up again.
I also use the SD slot in the iPAQ, by the way. _________________ Tim |
