Does anybody know of a system which will give a voice announcement on command telling you the name of the street you are in and, preferably, the direction of travel?
Thanks. |

CoPilot uses TTS (Text To Speech) so will give commands such as "Turn right onto B30002 or "Turn left into High Street" but I'm not aware of any that will announce the road you are currently travelling along or direction. _________________ Darren Griffin |

It's an interesting thought - particularly for blind / visually impaired people (who will, presumably, be walking - and not driving a car).
For those who are driving, I'm not sure it's of any great use as a feature; I don't recall anyone requesting it before.

Exactly David. My question was prompted by a discussion I had with a blind friend. We were talking about my ttn3/IpaQ setup and he said "could it.......?" There is a market out there - just remember whose idea it was! |
