I am trying to add sound files to Navman 510 / Smart ST ver 3.
Having trawled through what seems like hundreds of threads I am no further on, other than trying to find and replace "cosmicl.wav"
I have searched through every folder /sub folder and am unable to find it - even done a search with explorer - and nothing.
Would appreciate any help. Many thanks
p.s. i have installed Navman SP1 and it makes no difference! _________________ Fortuna Clip-On BT ver 1.2

Hello Ken
Think the normal location is:
Program files > Navman > SmartST Pro > Sound |

|
|
I don't have a smartST directory.
Starting at Program files:
Program Files/Navman/Ficino/Navman/Sound
/my poi
/pois
/maps
/Strings
/topo
Nowhere in any of the directories/sub directories can i find the sound file.
If I explore the sd card, the directory structure is almost identical to the one above.
I can't even find the .ini files that someone suggested altering.
Thank for your reply _________________ Fortuna Clip-On BT ver 1.2

No, I'm to sort this sound file problem.
I'm assuming that it is not easy as only one person replied.
Thanks anyway

I have an iCN630, and found the file "default.wav" in the folder "C:\Program Files\Navman\SmartST Desktop 2005 for iCN600 Series\iCN630Bin\Common". It sounds the same on my PC as the speedcam warning sound. It's format is 8 bit, Mono 11 kHz sound.
So I got to thinking - what if I change it to somethign else, which I did, and reinstalled my iCN630 appliaction software. I now have my own sound for speed cams.
I then had a search thriough the files and found that default.wav has the following entries in iCNApp.ini
file13=common\default.wav
file13_InstallTo=Navman\MyPoi
file13_InstallName=default.wav
From what I read about the 510, the MyPoi is stored on the SD card. I wonder if you should see if there is a default.wav and replace it with your own. |

Why not try to put a file called default.wav in the mypoi folder. The one for the iCN630 is 8bit, 11kHz, mono. (Heaps avalible of the internet if you don't have one) If the 510 is the same, (the software looks the same), then it may just work. |
