Help please,
I have an hp - iPAQ 5550 - Pocket (2003) PC. I'm running tomtom software and 'checkpoint 2.0'.
Whenever I have finished using tomtom, I use the tomtom 'exit application' button to shut tomtom down. The next time I try to run tomtom it won't start up. I always have to do a soft reboot of the iPAQ. Then tomtom will work again!
Has anyone come across this problem before?

No, this really sounds strange. TomTom is not known for memory leaks. Are you using any kind of task manager (like vbar or wisbar)? That may help you to find and terminat other programs that may be running in the background and may be eating up memory. _________________ Lutz

Thanks for the reply. No other programs are running when this happens so not sure what else to try but thanks for the suggestions.

I also have problems with exiting TomTom using the application icon.
I have an XDAIIs with the latest upgrade (ROM version 1.31.139, Radio version 1.06). TomTom version 3.07 (442), GPS version 3.07 417/421.
When I attempt to exit tomtom using the application icon and while the unit is connected to the GPS receiver in my wired car kit the whole system freezes. I cannot even switch the unit off and have to restart using soft reboot.
Occasionally I also have to reboot after receiving a telephone call, again only when the unit is in the car kit.
I have done a complete reinstall from cold boot, installed the navigation system with SD card removed and from advice on other forum sites brought new SD card, checked that GPS receiver is set to TomTomNavigator GPS and Com 1. Has anybody got any other ideas? |
