Anyone any ideas on whether the road angle 2 has the gps out ?

I don't think it has a GPS Data Out, certainly there is no mention of it in the technical specification and if it was a feature I would expect them to be shouting about it!

It does have GPS output:

Extracts from the online RA2 user guide:

Mapping Output – Switches NMEA data for interfacing into Mapping
Software on or off. (Requires extra cable available from Blackspot
Interactive Ltd).

Mapping Baud Rate – Switch between 4800, 9600, 19200 baud rate.

Right, well think I'm going to buy one of these (at last). Just as a matter of interest is this the only speed trap detector that provides a GPS feed (other than the b2) ? Just wanna check that there isn't something better out there :D

Thanks

Ben.

B2 doesn't provide GPS out. They're still testing the cradles, or waiting for stock, or something.

Road Angel 2 is the only one ... [Cue Prodigy soundtrack]

Bear in mind though, a GPS Receiver isn't that expensive these days. And having a separate one would give you more scope for positioning (as well as the option of buying a receiver with a more up-to-date, reliable or sensitive chipset than in the Road Angel).

Yeah, bit of a dilema to be honest. My whole reason behind this is that originally I just wanted a speed trap detector as I do a lot of driving with my job. Then I discovered about using the GPS feed into a PDA for satnav and though that would be cool to have... Strangely I ended up buying the PDA first as I got a really good offer on one off ebay, so I have yet to get the GPS input to it...

Just seems a bit pointless buying a GPS module for the PDA and then a GPS based speed trap detector.
