I had the same problem on my Go 750 (non-Live) and this was the cure from Tomtom which works. It may not be the same for a 520 but after a backup to pc it could be worth a try.
Alan
In order to resolve the issue, please follow the below given steps.
1- Remove the GNS folder from the internal memory of the device.

The steps for reinstalling TomTom application is as follow.
STEP 1 Backup the device:

I would also suggest you to backup your favourites or POIs from the device. To do that, please follow the link http://uk.support.tomtom.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/7028/kw/poi

- Click on Update and install
- Repeat this process until no more applications are offered.
3- Paste the attached file into the internal memory of the device and replace it in case the if you been told to replace the file.

Before you do all of the above it might be worth simply renaming the /gns/gnsdata file to /gns/gnsdata.old
Then try your tmc receiver again. _________________ Paul |

Thanks for the instructions from TomTom, "alanlakes".
Any chance you could post up the file mentioned in step 3?

If you can't host it yourself then maybe send it to one of the admin team and they could put it up. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

Sorry no attached file on the original email. The reason, I presume is that this is a standard reply to the problem and in my case no file was required.
I can only repeat that it worked for me.

The GNS folder and its contents (a single file with the name of TmcEApi.so) is included in a new Navcore download when the software is updated so no extra files would be required over and above the update - Mike |

I wasn't thinking it was an EXTRA file... but a replacement. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

I have discovered over the last couple of days that not only can I not get HDT (error 1008) my RDS-TMC system is unable to lock onto a signal and give me Traffic that way. Before the update it worked very well, now nothing.
Is anyone else experiencing this? _________________ Go 940 (deceased) Live 1000. |
